STAY (Suicide Prevention Poem) by Storyteller Odd?Rod
My 16 year old brother Eric passed away of brain cancer in 1996. At the time, my mother was within a 21 year crack addiction and my father had left me at 5 years old. I became suicidal. I wrote my suicide letter in the form of a poem. Tupac’s song “I Aint Mad at Cha” came on the radio and the song changed my life. I decided to live and live for my brother because he didn’t have the chance to. It was the best decision of my life to “Stay”. I wrote myself away from my depression and I’ve been writing ever since. I encourage anyone who’s dealing with the pressures of life to stay. Share this video with anyone who needs to hear it.
